RE: What is the worst Road you drove on?

I'm surprised nobody mentioned I-86 in NY. Worst road I've ever been on.

RE: Thomson Causeway COE, IL

Actually, in checking the available sites, most of them in area 3 are reserved. Surprised me. Can't beat the price $8 per night with Golden Age Passport. First time out there, not sure where we'll eat. Was thinking about running in to Clinton. Leaving tomorrow morning.

I know Camp Hatteras is open. They said temps were usually in low 50's daytime.

RE: Route 66 extended warranty worth it?

My reply to a post back in August: Purchased a Route 66 plan when we bought our '94 Adventurer in June '06. IIRC, cost was about $2400 for 4yrs/48,000 miles. Since then, we have had electric step controller replaced, furnace blower motor and control board replaced, generator overhauled ( new stator, voltage regulator, brushes & brushholders, etc.), convertor/charger replaced, HWH jack actuator replaced. Probably missing a few other things done that I don't remember. It would have been cheaper for them to put in a new generator. Have a $100 deductible unless I'm at a Route 66 dealer, then deductible is $ 34. Only thing they didn't cover was generator carb. Needless to say, we're glad we bought the coverage. However, if we bought new, I wouldn't have bought the extended. Don't know where you are in IL, but there's Rick's RV in Joliet that does good work and CW in Bolingbrook that worked closely with Route 66 on the generator repair.

RE: Ocean Waves at outer banks nc

I wish they could be open year round. We don't need the pool or water, we can bring our own. Just keep the lights on..:B Camp Hatteras is, just limited store hours.

RE: Best route through Chicago

I-80-- then I-39 north to 90 at Rockford, IL There will be 1 toll where 80/294 split. Avoids all the in town traffic/construction. 355 and 294 both have major construction

RE: Leak around passenger window

Had the same problem, caulked, had windshield sealed, tried everything but removing the window and resealing. Finally did that and solved the problem....not so hard to do. Just remove screws in frame and push window out? Did you remove it completely?

RE: Leak around passenger window

I noticed that Wal-Mart is now selling EternaBond tape. Sadly, not in my area. Just checked there over the weekend & CW's $89 is more than I want to spend.

RE: K&N Air Filters

Not on a motor home, but on both Jeeps I owned. Saw no difference except for more dust getting thru the filter.

RE: Leak around passenger window

If it from the lower window check that the drain holes in the frame are not plugged. On one RV the track for the glass had actually swollen and closed off the drains. Easiest way to check is to slide a knife blade into each drain from the outside. Dave It's coming in around top of frame, but not running down wall above window.

Where's a good place to buy eternabond???

Leak around passenger window

I've developed a leak around the passenger window that I can't track down. Wife gets upset when it drips on her as we drive.:B I've recaulked around frame which didn't stop the leak. Also resealed all the clearance lamps. Strange thing is that it leaks more if MH is tilted to drivers side. I would expect that with water draining away from passenger side, the leak would be less. Any ideas? Thinking of eternabonding the whole front cap seam.

RE: New Coach Extended Warranty Programs?

Is anything still covered under the original warranty? If so save your money. Otherwise look here, read it over thoroughly and then decide. Route 66

RE: Extended service agreement

Why is it every time someone asks for specific information about warranties, financing, etc., people have to jump in and give financial planning advice? :h The OP never asked IF he should get one, but rather suggestions on who to deal with. OK, I feel better now. That being said, I decided to go with Good Sams but have yet to need it. That may change now that my mnftr warranty expired last month. Sorry, I got distracted with all the other comments. To answer the OP Route 66 Never a problem, always easy to deal with $100 deduct drops to $34 if you go to a Route 66 dealer.
